Unlike many muscles in your body, your back muscles are always active and in continuous use. Back pain comes in many forms. From lower back pain, middle back pain or upper back pain, there’s only one thing you’re thinking about—getting relief. Performance Spine and Sports Center will help alleviate and treat all types of chronic back pain.
What causes back pain?
Back pain is commonly caused by nerve and muscular problems, degenerative disc disease and arthritis. A broad range of environmental, physical, and physiological factors lead to that.
What are symptoms of back pain?
Evidence of back pain starts as pain, inflammation and tenderness to the nerves, tendons, muscles, and other supporting structures of the back. Back pain can often cause you to wake up at night as tension increases over time. Pain and tension can be more predominant on one side of the back over the other, and muscles can become very taut and tight as you reach the end of your range of motion.
How is back pain treated?
Dr. Creech and Dr. Nothold will do a thorough exam of your back. This exam will help him determine where there are abnormal motion patters and compensations in the body. After the exam, the doctor will then use the proper Active Release Technique protocols to release these restrictions and restore or improve function. He will use a highly developed sense of touch to palpate and find the restrictions, identify the direction the restrictive adhesions have been laid, and physically work the tissue back to its normal texture, tension, and length by using certain hand positions and manipulation methods.
